What is Koop app? The Indian alternative to Twitter


  • Koo is like Indian Twitter, it's an online media application, which was dispatched in March 2020. A year ago in August, this application won Prime Minister's Aatma Nirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge

  • The local site Koo, which is a desi form of microblogging webpage Twitter, has become the new device of discussion as many ministers and union ministers have made their records on the Koo App.

  • Koo app was co-founded by entrepreneurs Aprameya Radhakrishna and Mayank Bidwatka


  • Radhakrishna had founded online cab booking service TaxiForSure, which was subsequently sold to Ola Cabs.

  • Preceding Koo, its parent organization — Bombinate Technologies Pvt Ltd — dispatched and is working the Indian rendition of Quora called Vokal.

  • As per Crunchbase, the company raised Series A funding in 2018 from a clutch of investors including Blume Ventures, Kalaari Capital and Accel Partners India

  • Former Infosys CFO TV Mohandas Pai’s 3one4 Capital also joined the list of those investing in Bombinate Technologies.
